PCB

A printed circuit board, or PCB, is used to mechanically support and electrically connect electronic components using conductive pathways, tracks or signal traces etched from copper sheets laminated onto a non-conductive substrate.

PCB contains many fields like process-id, process state, program counter, process priority, etc. these fields helps in controlling the operations of the corresponding process.

Structure of the Process Control Block

• Process State. This specifies the process state i.e. new, ready, running, waiting or terminated.
• Process Number. 
• Program Counter.
• Registers. 
• List of Open Files. 
• CPU Scheduling Information. 
• Memory Management Information. 
• I/O Status Information.
